RESTON, VA – Spectrum Engineering and Environmental, LLC (SEE), a wholly owned subsidiary of HydroGeoLogic, Inc. (HGL), announced that it completed the transfer of all assets, contracts and personnel from Spectrum Engineering, Inc., (Spectrum) of Billings, Montana, to the newly formed SEE on July 1, 2015. HGL, a recognized leader of environmental firms in applied engineering and integrated science established SEE in December 2014 to focus on the mining and abandoned mine reclamation market. William Maehl, P.E. has been named the President of Spectrum Engineering and Environmental, LLC.
SEE will continue building on the successes of the former Spectrum, expanding the 12-person firm that brings more than 30 years of professional consulting and reclamation services supporting active mining operations and abandoned mine reclamation under several state-level Abandoned Mine Land Programs. The former Spectrum earned an excellent reputation for delivering high quality work products at the most reasonable price.
“Establishing Spectrum Engineering and Environmental and completing this merger provides great synergy to further enhance HGL’s position in the mine reclamation and water resources arena,” said HGL President and CEO, Peter Huyakorn, PhD. “The transition of Spectrum to SEE brings a highly respected mining engineering consulting firm with a similar business philosophy – providing the best professional service and exceeding customer expectations.” SEE’s presence in Montana and experience inventorying, investigating, and closing more than 12,500 abandoned coal and hardrock mine sites throughout the world provides HGL with significant opportunity for growth and cross-selling additional services.
