The General Services Administration (GSA) recently performed a standard audit of the HGL Environmental Schedule. The audit evaluates how GSA’s contractors are complying with their contract terms and conditions. A new area of focus for GSA is contractor greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. When asked by the GSA auditor if HGL had conducted a GHG emissions inventory and established GHG reduction goals, we were able to reply with an enthusiastic “YES!” We presented our HGL Corporate Sustainability Plan to the auditor for review, who later remarked that “Of the 400+ contractors I review, HGL is only the second company with a written sustainability plan.” HGL’s proactive approach to global environmental issues and the impact we can make is being recognized. We received our 2012 Administrative Report Card and received a rating of EXCEPTIONAL.
