National Safety Council Awards

HGL Receives National Safety Council Awards

In June 2022, HGL received a National Safety Council “Million Work Hours Award.” HGL earned the award by working over 4 million hours from 2015 through December 2021 without a single lost-time incident.

In addition, HGL received National Safety Council “Perfect Record Awards” for working safely during 2021 at the following project sites:

  • Bog Creek Superfund Site, Emmell’s Superfund Site, Fried Superfund Site, Pohatcong Superfund Site, and Rocky Hill Superfund Site, NJ.
  • Newton County Superfund Site and the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) St. Louis Airport and St. Louis Downtown Sites, MO.
  • Former Blaine Naval Ammunition Depot Site, NE.
  • Gilt Edge Superfund Site, SD.

HGL achieved these awards because its managers and staff actively participate in identifying and controlling work hazards under their control and promptly address conditions or actions that are or may be unsafe. At HGL, ensuring that work is performed safely is part of each manager’s job, whether in the field or in the office.

Founded in 1913, the National Safety Council is recognized as America’s leading nonprofit safety advocate.
