HydroGeoLogic, Inc., Completes Integration of Former Subsidiary Spectrum Engineering and Environmental, LLC

RESTON, VA – June 30, 2022

On July 1, 2022, Spectrum Engineering and Environmental, LLC (SEE), which has been operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of HydroGeoLogic, Inc. (HGL), will complete its integration into HGL and become HGL’s Billings, Montana, office.

HGL, a full-service environmental engineering and remedial construction firm, opened dialogue with Spectrum Engineering, Inc., in 2014 to find a teaming partner with hard rock mine reclamation experience for future contract opportunities with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Spectrum’s reputation within the industry, long-term contracts with the states of Montana, Utah, and Wyoming, and proven ability to deliver cost-effective innovative engineering solutions to complex mine reclamation projects made it an ideal partner.

In December 2014 Spectrum Engineering, Inc., signed an agreement to be purchased by HGL, and in July 2015 the transaction was completed. Spectrum Engineering, Inc., was subsequently renamed Spectrum Engineering and Environmental, LLC. The acquisition expanded HGL’s experience in the fields of hard rock and coal mine site engineering and reclamation, and it allowed HGL to combine that experience with its own water treatment system O&M experience to capture more back-end work at mine reclamation sites.

The completed integration will result in a more cohesive and efficient organization better able to meet the needs of HGL’s clients. “Completing the integration of SEE will allow HGL to continue to expand its service offerings and client base within the environmental area,” said HGL President and CEO, Peter Huyakorn, PhD., BCEE “We look forward to what the future will bring and will continue our mission to provide the best professional services and exceed customer expectations.”
