HGL Recognized for Superior Safety Performance on the St. Louis FUSRAP Project
On February 16, 2023, HGL was pleased to be honored at the MVAGC Construction Round Table for its superior safety performance on the St. Louis FUSRAP project. The round table, an event organized by the nonprofit Mississippi Valley Branch Associated General Contractors of America (MVAGC) and held in Memphis, Tennessee, is held annually to share expertise regarding flood control and navigation work on the Mississippi River and its tributaries. HGL was nominated for the award by its project client, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
HGL, along with its teaming partners on the project, Aptim Federal Services and AVESI, was further honored when the USACE St. Louis District’s FUSRAP Area Office received a certificate of appreciation for its superior safety performance on the St. Louis FUSRAP project. The award stated “The Area Office QA team and the contractor team exhibited outstanding management and safety awareness working over 118,116 man hours resulting in 0 lost time accidents.”
Since 2016, HGL has been supporting the USACE St. Louis District by executing a large-scale cleanup of low-level radioactive waste (LLRW) on numerous commercial, municipal, and residential properties in two separate areas of St. Louis located 13 miles apart: the St. Louis North County sites and the St. Louis Downtown Site. Under two consecutive ID/IQ contracts, HGL has excavated and safely disposed of over 225,000 cubic yards of LLRW.
HGL is proud of the performance of our staff and their dedication to safely and efficiently executing their work and is grateful that the MVAGC and USACE have recognized their efforts.
